Known to many as “Big Bobby”, he lived an extraordinary life, a little different from any farming man of his generation. Bobby Sr, spent almost every healthy day of his life in the fields tending to his crops. He was a farmer who thrived on hard work, a husband who loved his wife, a father who devoted unconditional love to his family, and a friend to anyone that knew him. The seeds he planted always reaped a bountiful harvest of love.
Bobby Sr. took pride in selling quality produce, to include the all time favorites, Hanover tomatoes, cantaloupes, watermelons, and pumpkins to markets and grocery chains located in Ashland, Fredericksburg, Richmond, Northern Virginia, and D.C. During the Christmas season, he was the local favorite in Fredericksburg, selling Christmas trees until the peak of Christmas Eve. He never wanted a family to go without having a Christmas tree.
When his health declined, he continued to be a disciple of Christ, sharing the good news and witnessing his love for God. Reflecting on Bobby Sr’s life there is nothing more gratifying to know that he is at peace with his Heavenly Father. His legacy will continue to live in those that loved him so much. Well done good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord.
