William (Billy) Claytor, 80 of Doswell, VA passed away March 21, 2021 at his home under the care of Hospice of Virginia and his loving family.

William Vaughn Claytor was born on July 7, 1940, along with his twin sister Sandra (Claytor) Hall in Doswell, Virginia to Willie and Mildred (Perkins) Claytor.

He worked as a mechanic most of his life, starting out with Holestar Lumber Co., Speed & Brisco, H & H Auto Service, Jarrell’s Truck Plaza, and Seay’s Auto.

In later years, he worked as a mechanic for Henrico County, from which he retired in 2003.

On April 2, 2960, he married Merle Smith.  Their union was blessed with two daughters, Donna and Teresa, and a foster son, Jeff Foster.

Billy enjoyed camping and fishing in his younger years, tinkering on any type of mechanical equipment, watching NASCAR and Gunsmoke, and visiting with his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Billy was proceeded in death by his parents, Willie and Mildred; sisters, Sandra (Tommy) Hall, Rachel (Aubrey) Seay; and grandson, Adam Napier.

Billy is survived by his wife of 61 years, Merle, daughters, Donna (Lloyd) Nelson, Teresa (John) Napier, foster-son Jeff Foster, grandchildren, James (Jenna) Napier, Kraig Nelson, Shelby Nelson, and great-grandchildren, Bentlee Napier, Acelynn Briggs, numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Addy.

A memorial service will be held Monday, March 29^th at 1:00pm at Ashland Church of God, Ashland, Virginia. Memorial donations are preferred to the Diabetes Association and Hospice of Virginia.
