Debbie A. Brooks, 68 of Ruther Glen passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 in VCU Medical Center. She was born and raised in Hawaii and moved to Caroline County in 1990. Debbie was an active member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Ladysmith, where she served as choir director for many years. She taught pre-school at Toddler Time with the Caroline County Parks and Rec. She enjoyed scuba diving and promoting her Hawaiian culture in her community. She will be remembered as a loving caregiver to her parents and family. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert Brooks; her parents, John and Flora Signor; her children, Stacie Perkins (John) and Robbie Brooks (Mandy); her sister, Susie Tatham (Frank); her brother, John Signor (Joel); her grandchildren, Merci, John Jr., Rees, Jordin and Kaleb and her nephews, Trevor (Bethany), Adam and Charlie. The family will receive friends at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, Ladysmith on Friday, April 30^th from 7:00 – 9:00pm. A funeral Mass will follow on Saturday, May 1^st in the church at 11:00am. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 4^th at 11:00am in St. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery, Woodford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of the Annunciation Church Building Fund or Virginia Paws for Purple Hearts.
