Born in Caroline County, she spent most of her life there. She retired due to her eyesight from Simmons Bedding Company as a machine operator. As a member of Round Oak Baptist Church, she would attend when she was able and would help with various duties in her Sunday school class. It was in her nature to be kind, caring, and loving to her family and friends. She loved her family with all her heart and would do whatever she could for them. Most mornings she would be found reading her Bible to start her day. Hummingbirds would visit the feeders she had in her backyard and she would enjoy them while she sat outside on her screened porch. Keeping up with current events was very important to her and she had firm views on what was happening in the world. She could be counted on to provide up to date news. While some would describe her as feisty at times, she would often “tell it like it is” in her own way. She enjoyed listening to music and one of her favorites was bluegrass gospel.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, W.V. (Doug) De’Loach. She is survived by her children, Rosa De’Loach-Hogue (David), Wesley De’Loach (Angela), Warren De’Loach, Wayne De’Loach (Ileane) and Wyatt De’Loach; her sisters, Katy Huntington and Lucy Robertson; her brother, George Martin; twelve grandchildren, Steven Wood, Kara Smith (Trevor), Bryce Hogue, Amber Maher (Michael), Ashley Alvarez (Nicholas), Wesley De’Loach Jr. (Johanna), Mathew Cooper, Shannon De’Loach, Daniel Hicks Jr. (Rosemary), Brandi De’Loach, MacKenzie De’Loach, and Madison De’Loach; and eleven great grandchildren, Kayleigh Wood, Christopher Wood, Ian Smith, Rylee Maher, Trent Maher, Tristen Alvarez, Kash Alvarez, Kinlee De’Loach, Alysia Alexander, Violet Hicks, and Peyton Mitchell. A funeral will be held on Thursday, June 3rd at 4:00pm in Round Oak Baptist Church, Corbin, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Round Oak Baptist Church.
