Gary Wayne LaGard, 72, of Colonial Beach, VA passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021, at his home. He had waged a valiant fight against cancer.

Originally, from Texas, Gary was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. After his retirement from a career as a  food service technician, he enjoyed video gaming and fishing.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Margaret; two sons, Albert (Raela) and James (Patty); five grandchildren, Melody Mae Gonzales, Garat Jon LaGard, Noah James LaGard, Joshua Joseph LaGard, Kaeleigh Price, and Ryan Christopher Criswell; and one sister, Brenda Sue LaGard of Texas.

In addition to his parents, Bert and Ola LaGard, Gary was preceded in death by his brother Denver Leroy LaGard.

The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm Thursday, June 24, at Storke Funeral Home, Colonial Beach Chapel. A funeral will take place at 1pm Friday, June 25, at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Josh Thompson officiating.
