William “Dale” Purks, 59 of Caroline County, departed this life on June 29, 2021.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Walter L. and June C. Purks and his grandparents, Walter and Mildred Purks and Walter and Lucy Skinner.

He is survived by a brother, Lloyd Wayne Purks (Jean); sister, Diane Purks Bruemmer, and half brother, Donald R. Burlock (Mary); half sisters, Barbara D. Mann (William) and Charlotte D. Burlock; aunts, Jean Skinner and Betty Skinner; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many life-long friends.

Dale worked as a mason before he got sick and his passion was hunting and fishing.  During his last hospital stays, he prayed to just be able to go home to spring gobbler hunt; he did kill his last turkey and then was able to go fishing, which also fulfilled his wishes.

He loved planting a garden and giving many vegetables away and enjoyed helping others with whatever he could.

He also found much joy in playing the lottery and winning and he loved playing cards on weekends.

He will be missed by many and we will cherish the memories.

His service will be Friday, July 2, 2021 at 2:00pm at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel. A visitation will be 12:00-2:00pm with interment at Round Oak Baptist Church, Corbin, VA.
