Lowell Z. Matthews of Lorton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, July 18, 2021. He was born in Pennsylvania to the late Lowell E. Matthews and Tresa V. Addis Matthews.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as an Airman 1st Class.  He later retired after 35 years as an Aircraft Mechanic with Delta Airlines.

He was preceded in death by his great granddaughter Macie Grace.  Lowell is survived by his wife of 63 years, Beverly M. Matthews; his children Joyce Seitzinger (Bert), Debbie Fetkenhour (David), Keith Matthews (Brenda), and David Matthews; grandchildren Bridget Burger (Ryan), Holly Evans (Brian), Leanne Opperman (Jeremy), Milo Seitzinger (LaRae), April Price, Chelsea Morrell, Jordan Oremland (Alex), Bryan Matthews, and Marissa Matthews; and his great-grandchildren Aiden, Lucas, Brody, Ainsley, Jordan, Nicole, Chloe, Jameson, Wyatt, Harper, Desmond, Carter, Avery, and Baby Evans.

A private Mass and burial at Arlington National Cemetery will be scheduled at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Macie Grace Foundation (Fremont, CA) www.maciegrace.org.
