Helmut Brömme, 90, of King George, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021, at his home, surrounded by family.

Originally from Germany, Helmut enjoyed a 60-year career in masonry, eventually becoming a contractor in the field. In his leisure time, he enjoyed coin collecting and woodworking. Many of his handicrafts were created and donated to charitable causes in the community. Helmut was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church in King George, where he served as Head Usher for 34 years.

Helmut is survived by his wife of 66 years, Christl; four children, Ralph (Bobbi), Peter, Wilfred (Stacey) and Christopher (Alberto); nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 10 am Friday, August 27, at Peace Lutheran Church, 5590 Kings Highway, King George, officiated by the Rev. Richard J. Finck and the Rev. John M. Duran, with burial following in Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3702 Loren Drive, Fredericksburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Peace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
