James (Jimmy) Linden Allen, 81, of Bowling Green, died Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Poets Walk Memory Care of Fredericksburg. Born in Caroline on June 27, 1940, he was the son of the late Maxwell Coleman Allen and Elizabeth Wright Allen and the husband of Jane Broaddus Allen.  In addition to his wife, survivors include his three loving daughters, Ashley Allen McGill (Sam), Stacey Allen Hicks (John) and Wendy Allen Flora (Chris); four grandchildren, Mallory Hicks Clarke (Daniel), Mason Allen Hicks, Gracelin Elaine Flora and Ryan James Flora.   Jimmy was also loved and survived by his brother, Maxwell Spencer Allen (Barbara); and sisters, Mary Elizabeth Allen Cooper (Earl) and Barbara Ann Allen Smith (Rod); his many nephews and nieces and his sweet sister-in-law, Mary James.

Jimmy retired from Rappahannock Electric Cooperative in 1999.   

He was known far and wide for his famous barbecued chicken that was enjoyed by so many.  His life was blessed with good friends, wonderful memories, many made by family vacations on the Outer Banks and fishing and hunting (in particular rabbit hunting with Richard Carson!)  

His family will be forever grateful for all the support and love along our journey with Jimmy.  It meant so much to us.  Our deepest appreciation will forever be with his caregivers while at home and the staff during his stay at Poets Walk.  

In the end… it was just about the LOVE♥️♥️.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the graveside service 11:00 AM Sat., September 18 , 2021 at Lakewood Cemetery, Bowling Green, VA.
