Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintIt is with deep sadness that the Williamson family announces the death of their beloved father, James F. Williamson, 73. Mr. Williamson passed away peacefully this afternoon, Friday, September 3, 2021.
Born in Rock Hill, SC, he was the son of the late Wesley Lacy Williamson and Viola Brewer Williamson. Jimmy served his country in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam. He was retired from Sonoco Products Corporation as a Turbine Operator.
He enjoyed trips with his grandchildren: Washington, DC, Panama City Beach, FL, Las Vegas, NV, or anywhere else he could travel with them. He was a fan of ’60s and ’70s music, as well as country music.
Jimmy enjoyed family traditions, and they were important to him. He loved having meals at Jill’s and giving the sweetest, most sentimental cards for birthdays and Christmas. He had a favorite saying that his friends and family would remember him by, “Well, there’s always next year!” He was full of life and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Jill Williamson (Jim) Buck of Hartsville, SC; son, Michael Hartwell (Heather) Williamson of Hartsville, SC; grandsons, Jay (Ana) Buck of Austin, TX, A. J. Buck of Hartsville, SC; granddaughters, Halee (Tyler) Rogers of Hartsville, SC, Mary Claire Buck of Hartsville, SC, Millie Buck of Hartsville, SC, Hannah Grace Williamson of Hartsville, SC; great-grandchildren, Robin Buck of Austin, TX, Adalyn Rogers of Hartsville, SC, Everly Rogers of Hartsville, SC; brother, Douglas Williamson of Gilbert, SC; sisters, Ellen (Lide) Winburn of Hartsville, SC, Cathy (Gerald) Lynch of Hartsville, SC; sister-in-law, Alva Williamson of Hartsville, SC; special friends, Cindy and Larry Bladel of Hartsville, SC; numerous nieces, nephews, and adopted granddaughters; and his dogs, Millie and Dabo.
In addition to his parents, Wesley Lacy Williamson and Viola Brewer Williamson, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Williamson.
Burial with full military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
