Marjorie A. Putney, 68, of Milord, VA passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center.

Originally from Ogdensburg, NY, Marjorie began her teaching career there as a reading specialist. She later taught special education for King George County Public Schools and retired after 34 years of service. In her leisure time she enjoyed Sudoku and her beloved dog Abby. Her passion for children with special needs was further evidenced by her avid support of the Special Olympics program. Countless children’s lives were touched by Marjorie’s skill as an educator and love.

In addition to her parents, William Richard and Mary Elizabeth Putney, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Putney and a sister, Juanita Nuhn.

Marjorie is survived by her siblings, Mary Putney of Milford, VA, Barbara Putney of Ogdensburg, NY; Grace Horsman (Bob) of Charlotte, NC; several nephews and one niece.
