Vicki was born August 24, 1957 in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Kenneth K. Bisch and current rescue dog “Fletch”; her sisters Ellen Marshall, Ann E. Tate, Bonnie E. Neal; her brother, Alvin W. Tate (Judy); their families and many cousins.
She was pre-deceased by her mother, Eula Mae Tate; her father, Alvin R. Tate; aunts and uncles, William and Helen Tate and Edward and Elinor Inscoe; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter C. and Florence B. Bisch; and her brother-in-law, William Bisch.
She graduated from King George High School in 1975 and from the Mary Washington Hospital School of Practical Nursing in 1977. She worked as a nurse in hospitals and private medical practices including a position as an Executive Director of a medical non-profit.
Her love of and devotion to animals and their care and shelter continued from her childhood throughout her life. She had many, many pets through the years and they were blessed by her love and care. After moving back to Virginia in 2007 she became a volunteer at King George Animal Control, got involved with the King George Animal Rescue League and started Youth Outreach For Animals, sharing her devotion to animals with the youth of King George. Her dedication to animals inspired all who knew her.
Visitations will take place on Friday, October 22 at Storke Funeral Home, King George Chapel from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. with funeral service to follow. Burial will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers and to honor Vicki’s memory and her deep devotion to the health and well-being of animals, Vicki’s family requests that donations be made to King George Animal Rescue League “Vicki Tate Memorial Fund”, which will support the mission Vicki was so passionate about. Donations can be mailed to KGARL at P. O. Box 1003, Dahlgren, VA 22448.
