Virginia “Lee” White Dunnington, 76 of Bowling Green died Friday, November 12, 2021 at her home. She was raised in Chatham, VA and graduated from Longwood College in 1967, with a BS in Business Education, Cum Laude. After a career in teaching and accounting, in Mecklenburg and Chatham, and accounting in Raleigh, NC, she worked as a tax representative with the Virginia Employment Commission in Warsaw and Williamsburg before retiring in 2015. She was a member of Bowling Green Baptist Church and the adult choir. She was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Helen White, her husband, Hardy Dunnington and her brother, Willy White. Survivors include her stepson, Tom Dunnington; stepdaughter, Anne Waters (Joe); step grandchildren, Taylor and Hunter Waters; her nieces, Christi Skipper and Kim Hearn (David); her great nieces and nephew, Emma Hearn, Ashley Skipper and Mason Hearn and her favorite cousin, Randy Hester (Marcia). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 21^st at 2:00pm in Bowling Green Baptist Church. Burial of her ashes will follow at Lakewood Cemetery.
