Arthur Wayne Moss, Jr.

September 12, 1960 - February 24, 2023

The family will receive friends from 10a-11a on Saturday, March 11 at Storke Funeral Home, King George Chapel, 11089 James Madison Parkway, King George, VA 22485.  Funeral will follow at 11a.

Burial will be at 11a on Tuesday, March 14 at Quantico National Cemetery.

Arthur was born the oldest of three children to the late Arthur W. Moss Sr. and Late Joyce M. Brown, in Richmond Virginia on September 12, 1960. He transitioned into the arms of the Lord February 24, 2023

Arthur graduated from Highland Springs, Richmond, VA  1979.  He enlisted in the United States Army where he became a paratrooper for the 82nd Airborne Division in Ft Bragg NC.

He met his wife, Debra, in 1980 at Fort Ord, CA where they were stationed together. They married on August 29, 1981 and soon welcomed two children Arthur Wayne Moss III and Arteshia Young.  For the next two decades Arthur   served at various military bases throughout the Armed forces stateside and overseas.  He was employed as a referee for various men and youth football/basketball leagues and was a DJ for 30 years. He was also the proud business owner of Mo’s Crab Shack with a strong passion for helping others. Arthur approached any new opportunity with patience, integrity and hard work with his unconditional love for his entire family.

Arthur is survived and missed by his loving wife Debra C. Moss of 43 years; and his two children, Arthur W. Moss III, Arteshia W. Young (Keaton).  Forever cherished and remembered by his Four grandchildren: A’mari, Ari ’Yana, Kamila and King, two sisters:  Shirelle Span and Catherine Moss, Brother (s) in-law Richard F. Carter Sr., Floyd A. Carter Sr. (Estelle), Earl L. Carter Sr. (Joyce), Dennis Carter, Sister (s) In-law Anne Crafton, Linda Player, Linda Scaver (Daniel Sr.), Karen Jones (Tony) as well as beloved aunts, uncles, nieces’ nephews, cousins and dear friends.
