To Childers Family, I knew James from Dahlgren base. We work together in the same building for some time and went on several trips due to our job. I will always share those memories of him in my heart and soul forever. I knew that James loved his Redskins sports team and NASCAR. We always talk about sports and politics. He was an outstanding father to his daughter Jennifer. There is an angel looking down at us and his name is James Childers. I will keep him and his family in my prayers. May he rest in peace. God bless to all. Mike McGinn from work, co-worker, office mate, and his friend for over 30 years. I will miss him.

May God Bless + Keep your family this day and every day in knowing that our hope is found in the Salvation provided by our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. Jesus is with us to the end-of-days and beyond which is our peace and comfort. James always talked about his daughter, Jennifer playing softball and now she is all grown up in the Marines. James is my friend and colleague, who is missed each day. Thanks for sharing your son/brother/father with us here at NSWCDD Dahlgren R34/R35. Yours in Christ, Ken and Becky Elam.

To the Childers Family, My deepest sympathy goes out to you in your time of sorrow. I worked with James a few years before I retired from NSWC in 2008. He always had that cheerful demeanor, and would do anything to help me with my mechanical problems. He always spoke lovingly of his daughter. A true friend who will sorely be missed. Rest in Peace my friend. "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning" Phil Edwards

If the kindness James gave to and shared with those in his life were to be described, I think it would fill up a double-length novel. My sincerest condolences to his family at this time. I am thinking of you all.
