Dorothy Boutchyard Wright, 93, of Port Royal passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024. Born on May 31, 1930, she was the oldest of eight children born to Hansford and Dorothy Boutchyard. After graduating from Falmouth High School in 1947, she worked at Montgomery Ward in downtown Fredericksburg. There she met the love of her life, Wilbur R. Wright, when he came in to pay on his mother’s account. They were married on October 6, 1950. She is survived by two daughters, Darlene Green (Michael) and Cindy Hunt (Kenneth); three grandchildren, Roger Hall (Summer), Heather McMunn (Mike) and Dustin Hunt; great-grandchildren, twins, Presley and Noah McMunn and twins Max and Eli McMunn, who brought her great joy. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Wilbur Wright; one brother and two sisters. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, April 26 at Enon Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
