Verda Mae Compton Thompson

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 9425 Kings Highway, VA 22485 where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
Verda Mae Compton Thompson of King George County passed away peacefully on October 9, 2022 at the age of 92. She was born July 10, 1930 in Floyd, VA to Fred and Vada (DeHart) Compton.
Verda was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Newell Thompson, and brother Irvin (Myrtle) Compton. She is survived by her son David Thompson, her daughter Lou Ann Thompson and beloved grandchildren Garrett Drayton Thompson, Lauren Elise Thompson and Caroline Marie Thompson. Also surviving are brother-in-laws Gene (Hazel) Thompson and Dorsey (Louise) Thompson. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
