Alice Jane Parks Buckley

August 25, 1944 - December 30, 2020

Alice Jane Parks Buckley, 76, of King George, Virginia passed away Wednesday December 30, 2020 at Mary Washington Hospital.   Alice was born on August 25, 1944 in Washington D.C. to Morgan and Lucy Parks, both of whom are deceased.  Alice was a very devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother.   She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Joseph Buckley.  They were married on August 25, 1962.  Alice and Joe are the proud parents of five children; Eileen, Kevin, David (Wendy), Steven, and Dana (Andres), and the proud grandparents of six grandchildren; Jacob, Abbie, Danielle, Sam, Ryan, and Aidan.  They all loved their mother dearly, and she will be missed by each of them immensely.

In addition to her husband, children, and grandchildren, Alice is survived by five siblings; Julia Bowling, Thomas Parks (Terry), Glen Parks (Karen), Bonnie Hardesty (Ray), and Darlene Engelgau (Bert).  Alice is preceded in death by her siblings:  Christina Willett, Diana Nicholas, Stephen Parks, and Janet Miller.  She also leaves to mourn her loss, many nieces, nephews, adopted nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.   They will all miss her dearly and the sincere love she showed to them all.

Alice was educated in the Maryland Public School System.  She had a passion for learning, and was truly a brilliant person.  She was employed by the King George County School System as a bus driver for 33 years.  Alice enjoyed her job and enjoyed meeting her former students in their adult years all grown up, along with their children. She really enjoyed their reunions.

For 55 years, Alice served faithfully as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  She was a member of the King George Congregation located in Sealston, Virginia.

Alice loved to travel and she visited many locations at home and abroad.  She loved sewing and was a great seamstress.  Her love of poetry was evident in the many beautiful poems that she wrote.  She even enjoyed writing silly-crazy poems.  If she knew you well, you were a recipient of one her poems.  Alice will always be remembered for her quick wit, her infectious smile, and her kind and compassionate spirit.
