Allen “Al” Wayne Churchey, age 89, of Miami Township, formerly Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023. Son of the late Allen and Daisy Churchey. Devoted and cherished husband of the late Lisa Churchey (née Ziegenhardt) for 45 years. Beloved and dedicated father of Katie Churchey (Ryan) Osgood; the late Michael Churchey, Andrea (Gene) Wood and Terri (Mike) Boaz. Loving brother of Susie (Joe) Clark and the late Jack (Glenda) Churchey. Adored grandfather of Jack and Teddy Osgood; Natalie Fieleke and Jeff Churchey; Jason and Tyler Thomas; Jessica (Ken) Bratz; Michael, Justin and Jeremy Boaz; Cameron and Kyle Bratz; and Andrea, Joan, and Marianne Wood. Al will be sadly missed by many relatives and friends. A generous, thoughtful and hard-working person, he was happiest surrounded by his family. Proudly retired Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force where he served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He played baseball with the Hagerstown Suns and around the world with the Air Force. Al loved cars, and owned and operated his own sales dealership in Cincinnati. A joint burial service with his wife will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on April 14. In Al’s memory, please thank a veteran.
