A Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM on March 29th on her property at 133 Creek View Lane with Reverend Christy Haga Turner officiating.  The family will receive visitors prior to the service, beginning at 2 PM.

Blanche Jett Ransone, affectionately called Sally by many, departed her life on earth on March 17, 2022 at the age of 98. Blanche was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Randolph S. Ransone (Ranny); her sisters Thelma E. Jett, Francis J. Slocum; her brother, Vivian Blight Jett; her adopted son, John B.; and her daughter, Dale R. Sawdy.  She was born on November 4, 1923 in Colonial Beach, VA.  Blanche is survived by her brother, Garnet B. Jett; her granddaughter, Shannon S. Jernigan (Matthew); her grandson, Trenton J. Jernigan; her nephew, Michael B. Slocum (Terri); and her niece Kathy W. Hawley (Ben).

Blanche graduated from Colonial Beach High School in 1943, where she played softball and basketball. She served over 20 years as a Government Civilian, employed at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren.

Sally loved her family and enjoyed sharing stories of her past – growing up in Colonial Beach with her siblings and riding horses.  She enjoyed camping with her husband and the Shriners RV club, as well as annual family stays at Buggs Island.  Her pride and joy was her daughter, Dale.  They were two peas in a pod and traveled far and wide for anything to do with horses and rarely missed the annual State Fair.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM on March 29th on her property at 133 Creek View Lane with Reverend Christy Haga Turner officiating.  The family will receive visitors prior to the service, beginning at 2 PM.  In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to Colonial Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad, 225 Dennison Street, Colonial Beach, VA 22443, of which her late husband was a long standing member.
