Carol Jane Branham, 75, departed this life November 11, 2019. Carol is survived by her children Tamera (Scott) Forshaw, Bo (Chris) Branham, her grandchildren Zachary (Daniela) Branham, Brooke Branham, Tyler Forshaw, her great grandchildren Brecken and Haylen Branham, and her sisters Connie Wilkerson and Margaret Durante. She is preceded in death by her husband Seaburn Branham, her grandson Joel Forshaw, her father Leon Tedrick, who died in WWII when Carol was 9 months old, her mother Jane E. Cheney, and Herbert Cheney, who raised her as his own.

Carol was born in Hagerstown, MD but later moved to Dover, DE where she met Seaburn who was stationed at Dover Air Force Base. They married the day after she graduated high school and were married for 56 years. She enjoyed a long career with NSWC Federal Credit and continued to work in the financial industry until her retirement.

The joy in her life came from being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved visiting with them and showering them with gifts. But, most of all she loved “interrogating” them about everything going on in their lives.

Per Carol’s wishes, there will not be a funeral service. Instead, an informal celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. at Storke Funeral Home in King George, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of her beloved grandson can be sent to the Joel Forshaw Memorial Scholarship Foundation, c/o C&F Bank, 100 E Williamsburg Road, Sandston, VA 23150.
