Carolyn Lee Mahon, 79, of King George, VA (formerly of Lorton) passed away on September 25, 2023. Affectionately known as “Gram”, she was a devoted family matriarch who cherished her role. Her graciousness and generosity were legendary, and she always had just what you needed. Carolyn’s down to earth nature, combined with her sharp sense of humor, endeared her to all who knew her. She had an innate sense of composure and never seemed out of sorts, setting a remarkable example for anyone around her. Gram truly was the heart of our family.

In her spare moments, Carolyn found joy in watching cardinals at the birdfeeder, taking memorable trips across the country with her husband, and trying her luck on “the machines” in Charles Town.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Harry “Sonny” Mahon; parents, Charles & Alice Soklosky; and son, Michael Roy Mahon.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Margaret Teresa Davis (Michael) and Melissa Anne McIntosh; sister, Joyce LaPorte; sister-in-law, Rebecca Mahon; grandchildren, Jessica Mahon, Christopher Davis (Krissi), Sarah Ferguson (Adam), Jimmy McIntosh, and Alicen McIntosh; great-grandchildren, Logan Neer, Christopher Davis, Jr., Paetynn Vaughan, Trevor Davis, Ella Ferguson, and Sophie Ferguson; and many nieces and nephews.

A private ceremony to honor Carolyn’s memory will be held at the family cemetery at a later date.
