Dan Houston Hughes III, 38, affectionately known as “Big Country”, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018. He was a master plumber for over 15 years. He loved his wife, children and family, he loved basketball, especially playing with his family and friends and loved animals and nature.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Crystal Rose Hughes; his mother, Mary Catherine “Cathy” Stokes and her husband, Stan Stokes; four children, Dan Houston Hughes IV, Joseph Chance Hughes, Brittany Alderink and Jesse Garcia; siblings, Connie Hughes, Heather Hughes and Shawn Hughes; grandson, Cameron Derek Rose; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Dan Houston Hughes II and a sister, Joyce Barbour.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 7, 2018 at Storke Funeral Home-Nash and Slaw Chapel in King George VA, where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, December 6, 2018.
