David Gordon Harrison, Jr.

September 23, 1963 - August 22, 2022

The family will receive friends 11:00 -12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Wright’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 8063 Ladysmith Road, Ruther Glen, VA 22546.  A memorial service will follow at 12 Noon.

David G. Harrison, Jr., 58, of Ruther Glen, passed away unexpectedly on August 22, 2022.  Born in Washington, DC, David lived a full life in his short time with us.  He was a man of many travels, a wealth of knowledge for lake living, and a passion for helping people.  David learned how to waterski at the age of 15 at Lake Caroline and soon began working as a show skier for Kings Dominion.  His passion for the sport was instant.  He most enjoyed sharing and providing his boating experiences with his family.  He loved Lake Caroline and made sure he had plenty of toys for all to enjoy.

David graduated from Fork Union Military Academy.  He worked as a police officer for the Caroline County Sheriff’s office and the Town of Ashland, Virginia.  David spent 10 successful years with ADT Security Services, rewarding him and Kathy to travel to many places around the United States.  He was last employed with BG of Central Virginia. 

David is survived by his wife Kathy; two sons, Gordon Harrison, III and Daniel Harrison; two sisters, Page Hobart (Glen), Margo Jones (Billy); and five nieces Mindy Colden (Trip), Haley Strcit (Tyler), Sydney Hobart, Amber Mauney (Justin), Carson Pritchard, and Chloe Powers; and two nephews Ross Jones, Michael Penney (Courtney).  David was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Harrison, and his parents, Brigadier General David G. Harrison and Betty Wright Harrison.

The family will receive friends 11:00-12:00pm on Wednesday at Wrights Chapel, August 31, 2022.  A memorial service will be held immediately following at Wright’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 8063 Ladysmith Road, Ruther Glen, VA 22546
