David Thomas Brater passed away Monday, December 25, 2023 in Annandale, Virginia. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Arthur and Susan Brater, he served in the United States Air Force for 30 years, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant. Following his time in the military, he had a second career in civilian service for the United States Government. David had a love of reading, family dinners, and travel. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Karin Brater; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Marcia Brater; his daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and David Wilson; his grandchildren, Nicole Rodriguez and Alexander Wilson; and his great-grandson, Javier Bohenick. David was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Susan Brater; his sisters, Marian Kraft, Ellen Wagner, and Virginia Kasperczyk; and his granddaughter, Lisa A. Bohenick.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Renaissance of Annandale and to Goodwin Hospice for their tender, kind, and steadfast care for David.
