Donald Bakker, 77, of King George County, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 11, 2018, from complications of Diabetes.

Mr. Bakker was born in Paterson, New Jersey and moved to Florida, New York. He graduated from SS Seward Institute. Donald owned and operated a landscape company in New Jersey before moving to King George in 1979. Mr. Bakker opened Bakkers Acres, a nursery/garden and landscaping center. Mr. Bakker is a former member of the Midland Park Christian Reformed Church where he served as head usher, deacon and was active Church Youth Group. He was a former member of the King George Chamber of Commerce and past President of the King George Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kathi; son, Donald W Bakker (Lana) all of King George; two daughters, Cheryl Bakker of LaPlata, MD and Michelle Whitlaw (Ryan) of Talbott, TN; stepdaughters, Rebecca Firman of Williamsburg; Sarah Rexroad (David) of Kingsland, GA; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; caregiver, Roxanne Jones.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 15 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 9425 Kings Highway, King George, VA.
