Ernest “Bert” Medley, 79, of Milford, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Thursday, September 1, 2022 at his home. Bert was born in Alleghany, North Carolina. He was a devoted Christian and a loving father, father-in-law, brother, uncle and friend to many. Bert loved telling stories and making people laugh.  Before retiring, Bert had worked over 50 years for Brooks Lumber Company. Bert was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Everett Medley and Oza Johnson Reel; his brothers, Reece Medley, Fred Medley and James Medley; his late wife, Ruby Medley and son, Bert (Butch) James Medley.  He is survived by his daughter, Shelia (Kenneth) Deel; his grandchildren, Macy, Christian and Jenna Deel all of Knoxville, Tennessee, brother, Raymond T Medley; nephew, Richard L Medley of Bowling Green; step-son, Richard Morgan, James B. Medley of Woodford and sisters, Lilly Mae Middlebrook and Elizabeth Medley. A visitation will be held 12:00-12:45 PM Monday, September 12, 2022 at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fredericksburg, VA.
