Gilbert Lionel Brown, affectionately known as “Gillie”, 58, of King George, VA went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 7, 2022 he passed away at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born September 2, 1964 in Fredericksburg, VA. Gilbert served his country in the United States Army during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was recently diagnosed with cancer and lost his battle, however he bravely fought hard and was a soldier right to the very end. Gilbert was a commercial truck driver as well as a carpenter by trade. He built many decks, ramps, garages, etc. for people in the area. He had a love for art and drawing, riding his motorcycle, boating, fishing and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

Gilbert accepted Christ at an early age at Antioch Baptist Church in King George.

Gilbert is preceded in death by his father Kenneth Gilbert Brown and a sister, Brenda D. Brown.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother, Joyce Marie Jackson Brown, a son Andrew Brown (Jincy), a daughter Cassandra West (Nick), a brother Kenneth C. Brown, 2 sisters Robin Brown Haywood, Tracy Brown-Campbell (David A. Campbell), a half-sister Johanna Payne (George), 7 grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Antioch Baptist Church, 11102 James Madison Pkwy, King George, VA. Burial with Army Honors will follow the service at Oakland Cemetery in Sealston (at the corner of Fletchers Chapel Road and Oakland Drive).

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, September 16, 2022 at Storke Funeral Home, 11089 James Madison Pkwy, King George, VA 22485.
