Herbert W. Gatewood, 92 of Woodford passed away peacefully on Friday, January 1, 2021. He retired in 1990 from Fort A.P. Hill and was a lifetime Deacon at Bethany Baptist Church. Herbert is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jeanette M. Gatewood; his children, Michael Gatewood (Debbie) and Linda Ambrose (Johnny); three grandchildren, Pam Adams (Chris), Jonathan Ambrose and John Michael Gatewood; three great grandchildren, Shelby Adams, Kane and Kinsley Ambrose and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral will be held on Thursday, January 7^th at 12:00pm in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fredericksburg. A private, family viewing will take place that morning at 10:00-11:00am at the Bowling Green chapel of Storke Funeral Home.
