Janice DeLoach Shelton, of Dahlgren, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones.  She fought pancreatic cancer for almost four years.

Janice, known as MeMaw to many, was a member of Dahlgren United Methodist Church for more than 50 years and cherished her church family.  Janice never met a stranger and was loved by so many people and will be dearly missed.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband Wilbert Leroy Shelton and her parents William Edward “Chick” DeLoach and Marie Lucille DeLoach.

Survivors include son Eric Wayne Hovey (Tina); sister Marilyn E. Muncie; brother Richard Dewayne “Chick” DeLoach (Gloria); step-daughter-in-law Kelly Cline (Chris); step-son-in-law Christopher A. Shelton; grandchildren Hannah and Ethan Shelton; adopted daughter Vel Burgess (John); adopted grandchildren Blue and Stone Burgess; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10am to 12noon on Saturday, November 12 at Dahlgren United Methodist Church in King George.  A memorial service will begin at 12noon with burial at Historyland Memorial Park to follow.
