Jene Wooldridge “Mumma” Bailey

July 30, 1929 - February 13, 2024

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2024 in the chapel of Storke Funeral Home, Colonial Beach. 

The family will receive friends from 12 pm Sunday until service time at the funeral home. 

A Celebration of Mumma will immediately follow in the community center at Westmoreland Shores. 

Interment will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 in Maury Cemetery, Richmond. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Make A Wish Greater Virginia, 2810 N. Parham Road Suite 302, Richmond, VA 23294.

Jene Wooldridge “Mumma” Bailey, 94 years young, of Colonial Beach, originally from Richmond, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.  “Mumma” was known as the “Queen of the Potomac” and she enjoyed having fun, singing and dancing.; was ready to go at a moments notice so she wouldn’t miss out on anything.  She was loving, caring and always made everyone feel special.  Mumma was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Colonial Beach where her devoted son in law Kevin took her weekly.  Jene was preceded in death by her husband Everette D. Bailey, Jr.; her parents Archer Daniel and Ada Woolridge and four brothers, James Woolridge, Dan Wooldridge, Bernard Wooldridge, Ralph Wooldridge. Wister Wooldridge, daughter in law, Nancy Bailey & her “Wildman” Melvin Morgan.  Mumma is survived by her three devoted children Everett Daniel Bailey, III (Michal) of Spokane, WA, David Conway Bailey (Joy) of Richmond and Dawn Bailey Jenkins (Kevin) of Colonial Beach; grandson Matthew Daniel Bailey (Jen) and great grandchildren Adam & Melanie Bailey all of Spokane, WA; several nieces and nephews including Linda Weener, Ralph “Ski” Wooldridge and great niece Debbie Simmons; “Brother” Hugh E. “Footsie” Roach, Lifetime friend Dorothy Gravatt, “Children” Tina Inscoe (Lance, Chad, Karley) & Norman Trivett (Heather & Paige);  her “ angels”, Blaine & Anna Grob, & her ever faithful “kids”, Chuck Blevins, Lori & Jimmy Ferrell,  Chad Grob, Ashley Gilbert, Cindy Bishop, Bruce & Susan Piper, Rick & Tina Jackson, Lisa Reedy Hoffman, Dennis Harrington, Rhonda Sims & Bruce Legge.   Mumma is further survived by more “children” than can be listed as she was Mumma to everyone & never knew a stranger.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2024 in the chapel of Storke Funeral Home, Colonial Beach.  The family will receive friends from 12 pm Sunday until service time at the funeral home.  A Celebration of Mumma will immediately follow in the community center at Westmoreland Shores.  Interment will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 in Maury Cemetery, Richmond.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Make A Wish Greater Virginia, 2810 N.
