On November 20, 1930, Joyce Mae Trimyer Rice was born to Jeanette and Garnett Trimyer in Richmond, VA, the city she loved.  Joyce stepped peacefully into the arms of Jesus on December 11, 2023, the same date as her beloved husband, LeRoy.  Her last days were spent on the farm in the house they built together amongst the comfort of those she loved the most.

Joyce loved her family and they will miss her dearly.  She is survived by her six children, LeRoy (Debbie), George (Gwen), Donald (Karen), Glenn, Gayle (Doug) and Lesa.  She had eight grandchildren, Donny, Caroline, Lee III, Rob, Amelia, Mary Grace, Fisher and Emilee and four great grandchildren, Alton, Annie Gayle, Linden and Roland.

First and foremost, Joyce was a faithful and dedicated servant to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and loved serving Him in all she did. She was an accomplished pianist and served for decades at Enon United Methodist as the music director and organist.   She was a fierce prayer warrior and that spiritual support will be forever missed.

Joyce was the Boss at Hanovertown Farm and was particularly proud of their watermelons, cantaloupes and Hanover tomatoes. She loved driving her gator all over creation, willing to teach the ways of the land to whomever dared to ride with her.  Her sharp wit was unmatched and she had an answer for everything.
