Katherine “Katie” Armold, 76, died March 2, 2023 at her home in King George, VA. Born in North Carolina to James & Katherine Blackwelder (née Clark), she grew up in Eau Gallie, FL. After graduating high school in 1965, she attended Stetson University. Katie taught school for 33 years first in Florida and then in Spotsylvania County, VA. Her subjects included science, physics, earth sciences, and math. In her last few years of teaching, Katie was the Science Supervisor for Spotsylvania County.

Katie loved to travel with her husband, Randy. After his retirement in 2008, they struck out to visit every state in the USA. Their adventures led them to many states including Alaska, Hawaii, California, Texas, New Mexico, as well as the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, and Columbia. Katie’s favorite place, though, was Ocracoke Island, NC.

Katie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Blackwelder, Jr.; sister, Gerri Kurkioski; and half-brother, Robert Shuping.

Survivors include her husband, Randy Armold; sons, Micah Wallet (Fatima Zahra Wallet) of Alexandria, VA and Bradley Wallet (Zermarie Deacon) of Norman, OK; step-sons, Jason Armold (Casey LiCalzi) of King George, VA and Chad Armold of Lexington Park, MD; step-daughter, Jacqueline Armold of Lexington Park, MD; granddaughter, Philippa Deacon Wallet of Norman, OK; sisters, Johnnie Ebbert and Ethel Placey.

No services will be held.
