Katherine “Patsy” Schools, 84, of Shumansville died Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Memorial Regional Medical Center. Born in Caroline, she was the daughter of the late Luther C. Cecil and Pearl Taylor Baldwin. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James Schools, her son, Gary Schools and her sister, Erlene Swink. Patsy was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church where she was part of the Woman’s Ministry. She retired as co-owner of Sparta Market and she loved spending her free time gardening, working in her yard and doing arts & crafts. She loved to cook especially baking cakes and desserts. Survivors include her daughter, Tracey Burch (Chris); a daughter-in-law, Mary Schools; a brother, Luther (Phyllis); a sister, Judy Jones (Franklin); four grandchildren, Amy Trueblood (Derek), Jordan Schools (Lexi), Austin Burch (Amber) and Amber Burch (Grayson); three great grandchildren, Harper Trueblood, Presley Burch and Brooks Burch and her beloved dog, Rudy. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Monday, August 28, 2023 at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, 22370 Mattaponi Trail Milford, V A 22514.
