Leslie Harold Finch, 90 of Woodford, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 19, 2023. Harold was born and raised on a farm in Saratoga NC and later moved to Wilson, NC. He was one of eight children, having six brothers and one sister. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Harold had a 32-year career in DPW at Ft. A.P. Hill. While at A.P. Hill, he worked extensively with the Boy Scouts of America at their several National Jamborees. He loved to hunt and fish and spend time with his family. He served his community by cooking BBQ and chickens for the Upper Caroline Fire Department and Ladysmith Rescue Squad. Known to all as Pappy, he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Merle Carolyn Mills Finch; two daughters, Mona Estes (George), Venus Clift (Jeff Creasey); one son, Ronnie Finch; five grandchildren, Joshua Ryan Eubank (Nicole), Cameron Eubank Smith (TJ), Cole Pates Clift, Lexi Estes, and Jordi Estes (Anika); six great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins in the Wilson, NC area.

The family will receive friends at the Bowling Green chapel of Storke Funeral Home on Monday, October 23^rd from 6:00 – 8:00pm. A funeral will follow on Tuesday, at the funeral home, at 11:00am. Burial, with Navy honors and Masonic rites, will follow at Lakewood Cemetery.
