Louise Josephine “Jo” Harris Townsend
October 2, 1932 - April 6, 2024
A memorial service will be held at the Colonial Beach Baptist Church on Thursday, May 2, 2024, with visitation at the Church at 1:00 p.m.; memorial service at 2:00 p.m.; and a reception to follow at the Church fellowship hall. Interment will be private.
The family requests that memorials be made to: the Louise “Jo” Townsend Memorial Scholarship fund, c/o George W. Townsend, III, P.C. P.O. Box 1147, Montross, Va 22520.

Jo was a treasured friend and creative team teacher of 4th graders in the "good old days." From 1976-84, our modular units down the hill from the old CB High School were home to much learning and fun! Jo was truly the "idea" person of our team with many successful projects completed, some even without too much mess! She will be greatly missed. Love to all the family, Bob and Jackie Worthy

Jo was a cherished friend and neighbor, so full of life and endless energy. I was fortunate to have known her, having many great conversations and laughs…..I will miss her terribly.

Robert and George, So sorry to hear about your moms passing. I did not have her as a teacher, but I remember seeing her at school and at Aunt Lou's and Uncle Jim's. She was always very nice and seemed to always be in motion. May you and your families find peace in all the good memories of her wonderful life. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
