Louise M. Britt, 93, of Bowling Green went to be with the Lord Sunday, May 29, 2022 at the Bowling Green Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Waynesboro on April 25, 1929 to the late John W. and Gladys I. Davis. Louise was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Robert Lee Britt.

She retired in 2009 after many years of providing childcare for many families in Caroline county. Children were a joy to Louise and she was delighted to help working parents raise their children in a safe and loving environment. She had been a member of both Spotswood and Crossroads Baptist Church in Fredericksburg. She became a member of Salem Baptist Church when she moved to Sparta in 2009.

Louise is survived by three children, Barbara Gaumer (Mike) of Woodford, Gary Britt (Diane) of Milford and Richard Britt (Kathy) of Sparta; two sisters, Phyllis Wiseman of Staunton and Martha Sullivan of Waynesboro. She is also survived by five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and life-long close friends Duke and Violet Collier. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Gene Britt and grandson, Robert “Bobby” Michael Gaumer.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 9, at Greenlawn Cemetery, Bowling Green, with the Rev. Kevin James officiating. Please dress comfortably for the June summer weather.
