Mary Louise Hackelton, 86, of King George, VA passed away on February 8, 2024. Mary Lou served her community in various capacities throughout her life, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and generosity.

Mary Lou dedicated many years of her career as the postmaster of Shiloh Post Office and later retired as a beloved cashier at the King George Pharmacy. Her commitment to service extended beyond the workplace, as she devoted over 30 years to teaching Sunday School at Shiloh Baptist Church.

Known for her bright and bubbly personality, Mary Lou touched the lives of many with her warmth and compassion. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hackelton; and her five siblings, George Alford, Elizabeth Scott, Virginia Alford, Roberta Alford, and James Alford.

Mary Lou is survived by her daughter, Debra Marcello (Mike); grandchildren, Erica Villafuerte, Michelle Williams, and Daniel Williams; step-grandchildren, Devin Marcello, Taylor Marcello, and Griffin Marcello; great-grandchildren, Sophia Villafuerte, Sebastian Villafuerte, Coen Fisher, and Ollie Rowe; and nephews, Dougie Scott, Gordon Scott, and Rodney Scott.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Mary Lou at Shiloh Baptist Church at 1pm on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. A funeral service will follow at 2pm at the church, with interment to take place in the church cemetery.
