Throughout his life, Robert Lewis was also known for his garden and his appreciation for the outdoors & hunting with his dogs.  But most importantly, those who knew him will remember his strong faith & love for our Lord Jesus Christ, which was evident by his many years of ministry. Bowling Green Baptist Church was Robert Lewis’ childhood church. He served as their Sunday School Director for 26 years, a Brotherhood Director and Deacon. He served the Lord weekly for over 40 years in ministering to inmates in the Caroline and Hanover Jail Ministries. In his later years, he worshiped at Memorial Baptist Church in Port Royal, Virginia, where he was a deacon and taught Sunday School for 22 years. In 2017, he moved to Hanover Manor, an assisted living facility, where he participated in many hours of prayer, bible study and even taught bible study at the facility when needed.

The family would like to thank Hanover Manor for their kindness and excellent care, his caregiver, Charity, who ministered to him in his final days along with the many doctors and nurses, who cared for him with dignity and respect.
