A memorial service to celebrate Seymour’s remarkable life will be held Wednesday, August 23 at 1pm at Storke Funeral Home, King George. This gathering will be an opportunity for those touched by Seymour’s infectious spirit to come together and pay their respects.

Seymour S. Preston, 84, passed away on August 13, 2023. He was a man of vibrant spirit and diverse passions. Seymour was an avid dancer who found joy in the rhythm of life, often swaying to the beats of James Brown’s music. He had an impeccable sense of style and was known for his sharp attire, earning him the title of a “sharp dressed man.”

Seymour took great pride in the details, maintaining pristine vehicles and cultivating a meticulously manicured yard and home. He was a loving family man, affectionately referred to as “Mo”. Seymour had a special bond with children and had a knack for creating whimsical games that brought laughter to their hearts. Family cookouts were among his favorite occasions, as he cherished the camaraderie and shared moments during these gatherings. Seymour’s adventurous spirit was evident through his unwavering enthusiasm for outings and new experiences.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Preston and Gladys Scott; step-father, Clarence Scott; son, Wayne Howard; and sister, Priscilla Scott.

Seymour’s legacy lives on through the hearts of his surviving children, Theresa Howard, William Howard, Donnell Howard (Barbara), Joyce Newman (Douglas), Otis Howard (Tracey), Carolyn Howard, and Seymour Howard (Linda); brother, Jessie Preston (Barbara); sister, Mamie Frenzley (Lionel); grandchildren, Cortez, Aisha, Courtney, Deahvyona, Jose, Naquan, Shakeia, and Alonzo; great-grandchildren, Jayseon, Amylah, Anariea, Atara, Nylo, and London; aunt Agnes Jackson Wallace; special nephew, Andre’ Scott; and a host of nieces and nephews.
