There will be a small service for immediate family members only. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the American Heart Association or the Semper Fi Fund.
Stanley J. Beger Jr., age 83, passed away on January 3, 2024, with his daughters by his side.
Stanley is survived by his daughters, Adrienne (Kenny) Robinson, Elizabeth (Ken) Bensman, and Joanna (Rich) Beger-Mason; father-in-law, Ortwin Windmuller; and devoted friend, Barbara Lindsay. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanna A. Beger, mother, Helen Beger and father, Stanley J Beger Sr.
Stanley was born on January 18, 1940 in New York, New York. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps (USMC) in 1958. During this time, he served two tours in the Vietnam War. In 1980, Stanley retired from the USMC. After his retirement, much of his career was spent serving in law enforcement at the Caroline County Sheriff’s Department, the Bowling Green Police Department, and the Mary Washington College Police. Stanley was known for his love of the outdoors and farming. Stanley spent a majority of his free time working the family farm and caring for his beloved animals.
Shortly after meeting at the U.S. Naval Support Activity, London, England, Stanley married his sweetheart, Joanna in 1963. They welcomed daughters, Adrienne in 1965, Elizabeth in 1971, and Joanna in 1973.
