Thomas (Tommy) Roland Burgess, 75, of Dahlgren passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
Tommy retired from the Naval Surface Warfare Center after 35 years of service as an engineer testing guns and missiles for the military. He previously served in the Army, earning the Purple Heart during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patty; sons Mike (Katie) and Steve Burgess; sister Susan (Roger) Horman; and grandchildren Ben and Lily. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hazel Burgess.
