Travis Howell Yon of King George, passed over on January 24, 2024 at home with family by his bedside. Travis was the youngest of four children born to Reverend Travis H. Yon, Sr. & Callie Bell Lolley Yon on October 1st of 1950, both of whom preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was brother Hurlon Yon & sister Mary Carolyn Boyett.

Travis was employed for 40 years by the U.S. Navy at Indianhead. Maryland. He was a volunteer for 15 years on Dahlgren Rescue Squads Crash Team and also the Hazmat Team in Indianhead.  He enjoyed gardening vegetables and every year he planted several rows of kale for his mother-in-law Patsy White Golightly (Grandma Pooh) until her passing in 2001. When he wasn’t riding his Harley Davidson, he spent hours solving crossword puzzles & was an avid reader.

Travis leaves behind his wife Patti, daughter April Lyn Papenfuss, two sons, Travis Joshua Yon & Keith W. Burrell (Shawn), eight beautiful grandchildren, Chadd Collins Burrell, Angelica Coates Pitre (Ryan), Meagan Breanne Burrell, Jolee Camille Coates, Trent Jarrett Yon, Samuel Robert Coates, James Howell (Bubby) Yon & Lincoln Cain Yon. He also leaves behind a sister Fair Evelyn Harrell & our perfect, beautiful great-granddaughter Oakley Rae Pitre. Travis asked his family to have a private family gathering to celebrate his journey here on earth & we will honor his wishes. If friends or family wish to remember him in a special way, he would have loved to know donations were made in his name to St. Joseph’s Indian School non-profit.
