William P. Hayden, Sr., 90 of King George passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024 in Mary Washington Hospital. Born in southern Maryland, he served in the United States Marine Corps. He owned and operated a service station in King George for many years and also operated Hayden and Son Auto in Colonial Beach. He attended Hanover Baptist Church for over 20 years and enjoyed hunting, fishing and bird watching. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Velma Jean Hayden; his daughters, Barbara Cheseldine (Wesley), Cheryl Carter (Charles), Susan Price (Allan) and Laurie Klopsis (Teddy); his sisters, Grace, Jeannie and Linda; his brother, Julian; his ten grandchildren; his twenty-one great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Annie Hayden; a daughter, Jeanette McDaniel; a son, Perry Hayden and a grandson, Matthew Carter. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 4^th at 1:00pm in Hanover Baptist Church. A private burial will take place at a later date in Historyland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hanover Baptist Church or King George Fire Department.
