Clare was frequently an almost member of our family in the late 50' and early 60's as my oldest sister Ann's best friend. She was one of my earliest dance partners when I would join the girls as they danced to the hits of the day. I was years younger, and she was short so it worked. She was also the first girl to race me down and tackle me after I had been a pest. Later, she became my sister-in-law marrying my older brother. My duties as best man did not prevent me from passing out after the ceremony during the High Mass that followed. Many years later, she and my brother divorced. My interactions with her were greatly reduced and derived primarily from conversations with the three daughters. Thus, my memories will always be positive based on the history.
