Ellen E. Purks, 88 of Woodford passed away at her home on Thursday, April 11, 2024. Born in Fredericksburg, she had retired after over 20 years with the Caroline County Public Schools, as a school bus driver and the manager of the middle school cafeteria. She was the widow of Frazier Purks, enjoyed crocheting and shopping at thrift stores. She is survived by her son, Glenn Purks (Ronda); her daughter, Lisa Purks; her brother, Stuart James; two grandchildren, Glenda Stanley and Arthur Castle, Jr; two great grandchildren, Ayden Stanley and Jaxon Vaught and her beloved dog, Roxy. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, Donald Wayne Purks. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, April 19^th at 12:00pm in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fredericksburg, with Rev. Rick Ritchie officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hollywood Church of the Brethren.
