Harvey Onslow (H.O.) Williams, Jr., age 72 of New Bern, NC passed away in Colonial Beach, VA at his son’s residence on May 29, 2022.  H.O. was born in New Bern, NC on January 22, 1950 to Helen Estelle Williams and Harvey Onslow Williams, Sr.  He attended New Bern High School and later graduated from Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, NC with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.  H.O. worked as an accountant at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren, Va. for 25+ years before retiring on disability. 

In his early years, he was a co-founding member of the Colonial Beach Youth Athletic Association (CBYAA) which was established in 1982.  He served many roles on the board as well as being a little league baseball and youth football coach.  He devoted many long hours to the youth here in Colonial Beach.  He also loved spending his time on the water with friends and family.  After retirement he moved back to his home town of New Bern, NC to care for his mother.

H.O is survived by his mother, Helen Estelle Williams of New Bern, NC, his sister Patricia Stephenson (Vann) also New Bern, NC, his daughter Amy Allison (David) and his son Harvey Williams (Angie) both of Colonial Beach, VA.  He is also survived by 6 grandkids (David, Kara, Carson, Harmony, Derrick, and Trevor), one great grandchild (Kylie) and 7 nieces and nephews (Vann, John, April, Wendy, Ginger, Sean and Anna).

A celebration of life will be held at the Colonial Beach Baptist Church at a later date.
