Prayers and Peace to all of Jim Pitt’s family. He and my father were both born in 1921. My father always thought a lot of him and so did I. The last time I saw him was when I gave him a jar of homemade watermelon rind pickles. He was a special soul🙏

My condolences to the family on the loss of Mr. Pitts. I had the pleasure of getting to know him and his family recently at Commonwealth. He was a true gentleman and a bright light.

Me and my wife really are going to miss, Mr. Pitts. He was full of wisdom, and witty humor. He was best known as "The Mayor of Harbor Freight", where we always looked forward to seeing him come in to shop. In life there are certain people that you cross paths with who leave a major impact on your life & they're impossible to forget, well in the 15 years that I've known Mr. Pitts, he was one of those people. Prayers going up for all his family.

To Jim’s family: Please accept my condolences. I am grateful for having known Jim Pitts. He shared with me so many precious memories and stories about seeing steamboats, tugboats, and barges along the Rappahannock River, witnessing the last of the steamboats docked in Colonial Beach, recalling the times when families’ survival depended on the land and the river, and telling first-hand stories about my family, his family, and our generational connections. I am beyond blessed to have known Jim Pitts. He lived a good life. May he now have eternal rest and PERFECT health.--Cindy
