Joan Seay Munford, 77, of Ladysmith passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022.  Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, George William Munford; her parents, Lee Andrew and Frances Mallory Seay and a sister-in-law, Kay Seay.  Joan retired from Verizon in Bowling Green. She loved bowling, traveling, the beach, dominos and mahjong, working jigsaw puzzles and solving crossword puzzles.  The thing she enjoyed the most was spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her three children, Theresa Pritchett (Mike), Sharon Taylor (Jr.), and Tim Munford; five grandchildren, Amanda Pritchett, Michelle Rodriguez, Krysten Hairston, Sydney Munford and Shelby Munford; four brothers, Lee Seay, Dougie Seay (Carolyn), Warren Seay (Theresa) and David Seay (Cheryl); and two sisters, Mildred Simms (Dennis) and Janice Rowe. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Wednesday, March 9 at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green. A graveside service will be held 12 noon Thursday, March 10 at Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newbys Bridge Road, Chesterfield, VA 23832with Rev. Charles Tillapaugh officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joan’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
