A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 28, 2023 in the Chapel of Storke Funeral Home, King George.  Interment will be private. 

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 27 at the funeral home.   

Memorial contributions may be made to Montague Baptist Church. 

Joseph Samuel Minter, 75, of Dogue passed away peacefully on Friday, April 14, 2023.  Joe was a United States Air Force Veteran and a retired employee of NSWC.  He was a devoted member of Montague Baptist Church where he also served as head deacon.  Joe loved spending time with his family, watching the Redskins, attending Nascar Races, listening to Bluegrass and eating crabs.  He was preceded in death by his parents Bazil and Theresa Minter; his siblings Bazil A. Minter, Jr., Bobby N. Minter, James E. Minter, William R. Minter, Margaret E. Rawlette and Forrest “Boe” Minter.  Joe is survived by his wife Carol A. Minter; two daughters Theresa Jones (Sammy) of King George and Lisa Molder (Tom) of Fredericksburg; two sisters Dorothy L. Prince of King George and Doris A. Walters (Ron) of Bowling Green; three grandsons Kyle Slingerland, Alec Slingerland, Samuel Slingerland; one great-grandson Gene Slingerland; special brother in law Ken McRae (Betsy) of Fredericksburg and a ton of special nieces and nephews.  A special thanks to Joe’s longtime physician and friend Dr. Stewart Kohler and the nursing staff at Mary Washington Hospital ICU 2N, 2S and 4N.  A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 28, 2023 in the Chapel of Storke Funeral Home, King George.  Interment will be private.  The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 27 at the funeral home.   Memorial contributions may be made to Montague Baptist Church.  Arrangements by Storke Funeral Home, King George.
